Spent today getting the roses and their companions ready for a long winter’s nap and decorating the potting shed porch. Now we wait for snow!
We have had a beautiful fall and I AM excited about Christmas and I do LIKE snow, but I LOVE spring and that comes in 113 days!
CONFESSION: I told myself I would wait until after Christmas to order new roses, BUT I have already ordered a “few.” I’ll share my list–after Christmas.
I know that to everything there is a season, but I’m a gardener and I start counting the days until spring the day after Christmas. I love roses and get completely giddy when it is time for my historical roses to bloom in early June. I live and grow in Zone 5b where I take care of my 175+ roses and their companions. I didn’t realize the countdown to spring has already begun! I can’t wait to hear which roses you purchased. I have been trying to cut down on the rose buying, but it’s a hard habit to break!
What a glorious garden! I think I love fall best, and of course, then spring will come, and I’ll love spring. I guess I love all seasons. I can see we have much in common by the ambience of your garden. I, too, love the wood picket fencing. Great video!
Teresa, I loved the video! That grass plant is so elegant beside the lovely pond! 113 days until spring makes me smile. Nice decorating! You’ve inspired me…

Please share what roses you purchased and from where. I am going to buy two roses for the spring and there are so many varities!
My favorite online sources for roses are http://www.davidaustinroses.com/american/Advanced.asp and https://www.edmundsroses.com/ Do you want to purchase old garden roses, landscape roses or modern hybrids?
