A Time for Everything
(Ecclesiastes 3)For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven. A time to be born and a time to die. A time to plant and a time to harvest. A time to kill and a time to heal. A time to tear down and a time to build up. A time to cry and a time to laugh. A time to grieve and a time to dance. A time to scatter stones and a time to gather stones. A time to embrace and a time to turn away. A time to search and a time to quit searching. A time to keep and a time to throw away. A time to tear and a time to mend. A time to be quiet and a time to speak. A time to love and a time to hate. A time for war and a time for peace.
Now is the time for winter when the days are shorter and the nights are longer. When gardeners make plans for spring, observe the wildlife around us and look for the beauty of this season…
So far my garden plans for 2012 include more roses, learning to can and a new fence. How about you?
Wonderful photos. My daughter brought home a wonderful surprise the other day. A bird’s nest!! Such a treasure. For years now I have been reading up on canning and have been to afraid I wouldn’t do it right. I have always froze everything. Maybe this year I can let go of the fear and just do it! I have officially started the countdown until Spring today! Still working on my garden plans for the new year.

The pictures are beautiful. I’m still learning how to garden in the deep South after years in the Northeast. We have 2 growing seasons here and they confuse me a bit. I guess like everywhere, I never get the plants started soon enough. I have a series of pictures on facebook following the progress of my bananas that are growing right now, even though they will freeze to death when or if we get a frost. So glad I found your site.
