ABOUT ME…

I know that to everything there is a season, but I’m a gardener and I start counting the days until spring the day after Christmas. I live and grow in Zone 5b where I care for my large garden of roses and their companions. Read on here.

On this snowy day I wonder if my Queen of Bourbon rose and her Rugosa neighbors miss me as much as I miss them. 🌹
This is the “bomb”! Super fun and delish!! Thanks Sweet Treats by Janese. #hotcocoa #hotchocolatebombs #valentines #Valentinesday @gbyington #sweetheart 🥰#video
This icy day calls for a look back. Here’s Quietness Rose looking so fabulous in the summer breeze. This Rose is one of the best roses I have ever had. The form. The sweet fragrance. It is a Buck Rose with great disease resistance! Available at @antiqueroseemporium @heirloom_roses and Roses Unlimited.
More spring dreaming. These arbors are directly across from each other and it is fantastic when they all bloom at the same time - which is usually late spring. Francis E. Lester and Peggy Martin live on the back arbor and New Dawn is on the front arbor. Last season I planted The Generous Gardener (@david_austin_roses)on the left side of the front arbor — as New Dawn struggled a bit last year. It has been in that spot for about 18 years. I did some “refresh” pruning last year. Excited to see how they all do this year! Each year is different. So dependent on weather and pests!
Summer days! ‘Mother of Pearl’ was fabulous last year. I have 7 of them. 😁 If you would like to have one try @heirloom_roses @antiqueroseemporium or Roses Unlimited. Roses Unlimited has a website where you can see but to place an order you must call! Very disease resistant and has fragrance.
Hard at work! #summerjob
Morning has broken... peacefully and beautifully.
Let’s brighten our day with this beauty from last summer. The bird song is nice too. The Rose is Golden Fairy Tale. Not only beautiful but healthy too - like most of the Kordes roses! What’s your favorite yellow rose?
Dreaming of summer on this dreary winter day. I soooo miss picking flowers for bokays!!! 🌸🌺🌷💐🌹🌱 What do you miss the most about summer??
Never before have we all been as closely on the same page at the same time than in 2020 While we personally and collectively dealt with all that this pandemic threw at us. There was comfort in that. It drew us closer in some ways  even though it kept us apart. We learned to appreciate new things in new ways. I will never take  normal life for granted!! I am grateful for each of you for sharing in my life and my garden adventures. You are important to me! My prayer is that God will take what we have experienced and learned and push us forward “to exceedingly more than we can ask or imagine.”
